Mr. Ahmed Abdelmaksoud

Mr. Ahmed Abdelmaksoud is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with over 20 years of experience in ophthalmology. He specialises in cornea and refractive surgery, providing both general and advanced eye care. Having undertaken extensive training across four continents, Mr Abdelmaksoud brings a wealth of international experience and a global perspective to his clinical practice.

He is accredited by CertLRS and is highly skilled in a wide range of laser and lens-based refractive procedures, including LASIK, LASEK, PRK and premium lens implants. His clinical interests also include the management of dry eye and blepharitis, ocular surface disease, keratoconus treatment, including corneal cross-linking, and anterior segment disorders. Over the course of his career, he has personally performed more than 1,100 cataract and lens replacement surgeries and over 500 laser procedures.

Mr. Abdelmaksoud completed a prestigious post-CCT fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and the International Council of Ophthalmology.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr. Abdelmaksoud is a passionate educator. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Education from the University of Manchester and has actively contributed to ophthalmic training and examination at a national level.
