In Ireland, we are a cancer care partner to the HSE, and multiple hospital groups, the Oncology service for the South East, along with organisations that support patients throughout their cancer journey.

Our UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre team prides itself on its ability to provide patient-centred care of the highest quality. Our locations at UPMC Whitfield Hospital in Waterford and the Radiotherapy Centre in partnership with Bon Secours, Cork are both JCI-accredited facilities. At both sites, patients receiving a cancer diagnosis have the opportunity to access the latest in cancer care.

  • VisionRT - surface-guided tattooless delivery
  • Stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery (Cork)
  • Brachytherapy for prostate cancer (Waterford)

UPMC Enhances Cancer Care in the South East

The team at UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre, Waterford, is proud to enhance cancer care in the South East region with the installation of two state of the art radiotherapy machines to treat patients with cancer. The new TrueBeam Linear Accelerator machines allow for increased precision and accuracy in the delivery of radiotherapy. This translates into shorter treatment times, reduced side effects, and improved outcomes for cancer patients.

The South East Radiotherapy Trust (SERT) is a volunteer-based transport service that provides door-to-door or pick-up point collection for patients in the South East. The service is for those undergoing radiotherapy at UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre at UPMC Whitfield Hospital.
