Dr. Wei Lan

Dr. Wei Lan accepts pain medicine referrals for UPMC Aut Even Hospital and UPMC Whitfield Hospital. He will also be working at UPMC Whitfield Hospital as a Consultant Anaesthetist.

Until recently, Dr. Lan worked as a Consultant in Anaesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Cork University Hospital, Mallow General Hospital, and South Infirmary-Victoria University Hospital.

Dr. Lan is a University College Cork, MD graduate and completed his medical training and higher specialist training in Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine in Ireland. While in his training, Dr. Lan passed the postgraduate professional exams of the Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland (FCARCSI) and the Diploma in Pain Medicine of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland (DPMCAI).

Dr. Lan completed his advanced fellowships in pain medicine in King’s College Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, U.K.

Dr. Lan completed his World Institute of Pain (WIP) Fellowship exams in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) in the U.S. and Faculty of Pain Medicine Fellowship Royal College of Anaesthetists Exams (FFPMRCA) in the U.K.

Dr. Lan has a wide range of experience in cancer pain, non-cancer pain, interventional procedures for acute and chronic pain conditions, including neuromodulation. His specialist interests are mainly interventional and multidisciplinary treatment of chronic pain. Dr. Wei Lan is an expert in diagnosing the source and mechanism of pain. This often leads to the best treatment outcomes.
