Dr. Eddy Ferrufino Rivera

Dr. Eddy Ferrufino Rivera is a Consultant in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. He completed his specialist training in Respiratory Medicine in Spain in 2013 and subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research and was awarded an International Master’s Degree in Sleep Medicine. He has been treating patients in Ireland since 2015.

His areas of expertise include:

• Obstructive sleep apnoea and obesity-associated hypoventilation and sleep apnoea.
• Sleep disorders associated with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung diseases.

Dr. Ferrufino also has significant experience in the assessment and management of cardiovascular and metabolic conditions associated with sleep pathology.

In addition to Sleep Medicine, Dr. Ferrufino has gained extensive experience across the full spectrum of respiratory medicine, managing both acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

He is an Associate Professor at University College Dublin (UCD) and is actively involved in medical education.

He is a member of the Irish Thoracic Society, the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and the European Respiratory Society.
