Professional ProfileProfessor Obada Yousif is a distinguished Consultant Endocrinologist and Clinical Professor at University College Dublin with over three decades of experience in Medicine, Endocrinology, and Diabetes care.
A former Clinical Director at Wexford General Hospital, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, teaching, and research throughout his career.
Following his membership of the Royal College of Physicians in the U.K., Prof. Yousif obtained an MSc Degree in Molecular Medicine from Trinity College Dublin. He completed his specialist training in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Diabetes, rotating between major Dublin teaching institutions , including Beaumont Hospital , The Mater, and St. James's Hospital. He has contributed extensively to academic research on type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, thyroid disease, and COVID-19, with numerous publications in international journals.
Alongside his clinical and academic commitments, Prof. Yousif has played key roles in healthcare management, postgraduate training, and national advisory groups.
