Billing and Payment Information
Confirm your Insurance and Payment Arrangement
Our locations throughout Ireland operate under a direct settlement arrangement with a number of healthcare insurance providers.
Before admission, please check that your policy covers the treatment or procedure you require. Please bring evidence of valid insurance cover with you.
Insurance policy excesses must be fully paid on admission prior to any service, consultation, or procedure.
Similarly, if you are a self-funding, full payment is due on admission.
If You are Self-Funding
Please contact the hospital's Administration Department on 051 337 400 for an estimate of the cost of the proposed treatment.
It is normal in hospitals such as those of UPMC in Ireland for consultants not to be directly employed by the hospital. Therefore, professional fees for consultants and anaesthetists may be due independent of the hospital fees. Patients are responsible for settling these fees as well.
The hospital fee is payable on admission. The amount reflects the normal length of stay and tests for your treatment. In cases of additional tests or a longer stay, you will receive an additional bill after discharge.
We are happy to help patients determine what, if any, cost they may incur for any procedure. To do this there are a few simple steps:
- Check the name/type of health insurance plan.
- Check your policy number.
- Confirm with your consultant's secretary the procedure name and code.
- Contact your insurance provider to ensure there are no exclusions under the terms and conditions of your policy.
If you wish to discuss your plan or make an enquiry regarding a self-payment arrangement, please call us on 051 337 400 , Mon – Fri, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with the above details.
Please note that it is the patient's responsibility to understand their level of insurance cover, particularly as there may be variations of plans, many of which have an “excess" included by the insurer. If you have any questions or queries please contact UPMC.
