Mr. Afzaal Amin Mughal

Mr. Afzaal Amin Mughal is a highly skilled Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with extensive training in minimally invasive and complex abdominal surgeries. He is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care by integrating advanced surgical techniques with evidence-based medical practice. His expertise spans laparoscopic colorectal surgery, bowel cancer management, complex hernia repair, and proctology.

Committed to excellence, Mr. Mughal prioritises precision, innovation, and a multidisciplinary approach to improve patient outcomes. He remains actively involved in research, teaching, and training, ensuring continuous professional development and contributions to the field of colorectal and general surgery.

After graduating in 2009, Mr Mughal specialised in general surgery and completed surgical training in general and colorectal surgery in Ireland. He finished specialist colorectal training in St. James’s Hospital, Dublin.

He became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ireland in 2021, and a fellow of the European Board of Surgery in Coloproctology in 2022.

Mr. Mughal worked in St. James’s Hospital as a Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon from 2022 – 2023, where he delivered high-volume colorectal surgical care and specialised in bowel cancer management, acute diverticular disease, and advanced laparoscopic techniques.
