UPMC Aut Even Hospital achieves accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI).

Cork. 9 December 2024 - UPMC Aut Even Hospital in Kilkenny has successfully achieved accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI). This recognition is based on an extensive review of the hospital’s patient safety and quality standards, and is the sixth award since the hospital’s first accreditation in 2008.

A leader in international healthcare accreditation, JCI sets the “gold standard” in global healthcare quality. Its rigorous accreditation process focuses on determining whether a healthcare facility has the right systems and processes in place to support high-quality and safe patient care and has the culture and capacity to continuously improve care. JCI’s surveyors examine such crucial issues as patient and family education, access to care, and medication management.

Speaking about the hospital’s recent achievement, Claire Phelan, General Manager, UPMC Aut Even Hospital stated, “This hospital has long been a cornerstone of the community in Kilkenny and its rich legacy of care continues to thrive. The recognition of our team’s expertise and commitment to patient safety is something for the entire team to be proud of.
