Bon Secours Radiotherapy Cork in Partnership with UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre Celebrates Five Years of Evidence Based Cancer Care
Cork, 28 August, 2024 – Bon Secours Radiotherapy Cork, in partnership with UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre, is proud to mark the fifth anniversary of providing world-class oncology services to the people of Munster. Over the past five years, the centre has delivered an impressive 50,000 radiotherapy fractions to over 4,000 patients offering critical care to cancer patients close to home.
Since its inception, this joint venture between Bon Secours Health System and UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre has been committed to delivering advanced cancer treatments to the local community.

The radiotherapy centre is located on the Bon Secours Hospital campus on Western Road in Cork. Patients are treated using two advanced Varian linear accelerators, one Edge and one Truebeam. The department provides the most advanced stereotactic treatments and surface-guided radiation therapy (SGRT) to patients with various types of tumours. The department also offers patients the opportunity to participate in international clinical trials and partners with Cancer Trials Ireland. The centre has been recently re-accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) which is a testament to the high quality and safe standards being delivered.
