
UPMC Launches New Women's Health Service in Mallow
Mallow, Thursday, 16 October, 2025. UPMC is pleased to announce the opening of a new Women’s Health Service at UPMC The 4th Practice, Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre, led by Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr Mary McCaffrey.
This new service offers comprehensive care for women at every stage of life, with a focus on menopause management, gynaecological health, and hormonal wellbeing —delivered with compassion and expertise. The service enhances UPMC’s commitment to delivering advanced, accessible healthcare to communities across Cork and Munster.
The Women’s Health Service provides a full range of assessments, treatments, and supports, including:
- Menopause Care – Comprehensive assessment, guidance on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and ongoing lifestyle and nutrition support.
- Gynaecology Services – Management of menstrual disorders, PCOS, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, fibroids, and fertility-related concerns, as well as contraceptive options including IUD/coil fittings and implants.
- Pelvic Pain Clinic – Specialist care for pelvic pain, with access to physiotherapy, rheumatology, and pain management referrals.
- Mood and Hormonal Health – Support for PMS (premenstrual syndrome), PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), and perimenopausal mood changes, with access to mental health and talking therapy services as needed.
