UPMC Hospitals Achieve JAG Accreditation for Endoscopy Services
UPMC is proud to announce that UPMC Aut Even Hospital, UPMC Kildare Hospital and UPMC Whitfield Hospital, have each been awarded JAG accreditation - a significant milestone that reflects our commitment to delivering the highest standards in endoscopy care.
In recent years, all three hospitals have made substantial investments in their endoscopy services, including consultant recruitment and enhancements to both technology and patient care environments. The development of our endoscopy services enhances our commitment to continuous quality improvement and access to care. Today, more than 20 expert surgeons and gastroenterologists, supported by appropriately trained nurses and other healthcare professionals across the UPMC hospital network, deliver endoscopy services to ensure patients have timely access to vital diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
JAG (Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) accreditation is a recognised mark of excellence that signifies high-quality, safe, and patient-centred endoscopy care. This independent validation confirms that our facilities meet rigorous standards in clinical quality, patient experience, workforce training, and infrastructure.
This achievement also reflects UPMC’s continued growth and commitment to healthcare excellence in Ireland. Since establishing its presence in Ireland in 2006, UPMC has expanded its footprint to include multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities, while continuing to invest in state-of-the-art technology, workforce development, and patient-focused innovation across the country.
