UPMC Kildare Announcement

UPMC has acquired the remaining 25% shareholding in UPMC Kildare Hospital that was previously held by the Institute of Eye Surgery and is now the sole owner of the hospital.

The acquisition follows the resolution of legal proceedings and commercial matters between UPMC and the Institute of Eye Surgery in relation to UPMC Kildare Hospital.

The parties remain committed to the delivery of the highest quality ophthalmology services at the hospital, which will continue to be provided by the Institute of Eye Surgery pursuant to ongoing collaboration arrangements between the parties. The Institute of Eye Surgery will maintain a dedicated clinical presence at both UPMC Kildare Hospital and UPMC Whitfield.
